English Position Paper
        We are here today because of Narcissus’ actions. As we all know, he is being charged with the crime of vanity. He has been beautiful since he was a child but because of his looks, he became very conceited and broke many hearts. Many fell in love with him. Unfortunately, Narcissus wanted nothing to do with falling in love.

            I believe Narcissus behaved like this because his beauty caused him to feel better about himself, above others, and made him conceited. If we were to take his beauty away then his pride in appearance would go away as well. He has been beautiful all his life and making him ugly would be my punishment. That would pay back for turning down many people and that way nobody would fall in love with him again.

                This would be a good punishment for Narcissus because he has turned down many people and broken their hearts. Without his beauty, Narcissus wouldn’t have people falling in love with him and these nobody would get hurt. He would learn his lesson and learn to be more humble. He would be more considerate from then on and be a better person.

Reflection

Reflection for ELA GPS Rubric

 For analysis and inquiry I gave myself ¨developing¨ because I summarized everything good and I analyzed the ideas in the text. I used several sources for this project but I felt that I did not synthesize information that much. I used personal experience with the narcissus paper because I thought of something fair but that will really punish him. I answered all the questions good and clear.

         For organization I graded myself developing also because sometimes I did have some stuff all around the place. I maintained a clear statement of ideas. I used clear and consistent arguments because all the arguments were clear and consistent and it didn’t get off topic. So at the end everything I talked about made sense.

         Some ideas were not developed well because sometimes the ideas were confusing. Like for example I couldn’t answer some questions because I couldn’t understand my strategies on answering. I felt that the paper was well written although I did have some flaws but otherwise I did a good job. The grammar was good because the computer corrected my errors. So everyone could understand what I wrote.

My Three Goals

My Three Goals for Next Year

One of my goals for next year is to do better in English class. I want to turn in homework on time and do well in class, to participate and pay better attention in class. I want to improve my grade in that class because it’s the lowest grade that I have and I want to do better. I want to turn in everything when it’s due and not turn it in late.

Another goal for next year is try to get on honor- roll. I want to get A’s and B’s not C’s. I will try to be quiet and pay attention when the teacher is explaining work. I will ask questions to the teacher so I will know what to do. I will not be distracted by other students or things around me.

My last goal for next year is to not give up on easy stuff I can do. I will try my best in all projects and do them the right way their supposed to do. I will try everything next year so I can do better than this year. I would take my time doing projects and not do them at the last minute so I can go over them and check if their correctly done.
